Wan Ting is a trained Art Therapist with clinical experiences in the community, schools and social service organisations. Her experiences includes working with children, adults and elderly from different cultural backgrounds with emotional or psychological difficulties to identify and resolve their core conflicts.
From daily art-making sessions, individual art therapy to group therapy sessions, she has worked with various groups of individuals ranging from people with mental health issues to people with special needs/multiple disabilities as well as children coming from disadvantaged families to process through developmental trauma, loss and divorce.
Using art-making to foster interactive experiences, eliciting reflection and insights from her clients, Wan Ting works to improve the psychosocial well-being of the latter. She also facilitates art experiential workshops to empower people to unleash their creativity and express emotions.
She is constantly seeking for ways to integrate her experience of design and media with art therapy to create a communicative therapeutic approach through community projects. The objective is to reach out to more individuals to facilitate growth, change and healing. The approach resulted in the conceptualizing, facilitatingand organizing of Singapore’s first art exhibition in the dark with the Association for the Visually Handicapped in 2015.
She holds a Master of Arts in Art Therapy from LASALLE College of the Arts and Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) in Graphic Communication from Loughborough University.
