I am a Counsellor with a Master of Arts in Contemporary Therapeutic Counselling (with Distinction). I have helped individuals and families who are challenged by depression, anxiety disorders, stresses, relationships issues and other emotional concerns at work and/or at home for 10 years.
I completed 'Basic Volunteers' Training' at SAGE Counselling Centre on Gerontology, Community Resources, Common Health Issues in Elderly, Home Safety and Fall Prevention etc. to enhance the total well-being of older adults aged 50 and above, their caregivers and family members.
I use a toolbox of evidence-based psychotherapies and counselling modalities as well as mindfulness practice that are customised to my clients’ unique needs and goals.
My experiences include volunteering at a hospice care centre, family service centres, children’s telephone helpline and a church counselling centre.
I also facilitate couples preparing for marriages. As for married couples, I help them to enrich their marriages and if required, counsel them on specific marital conflicts.
I completed two specialised training courses on 'Understanding and Working with Malay/Muslim Clients' and 'Syariah Family Law for Social Service Professionals'.
Prior to becoming a Counsellor, I managed and maintained buildings and facilities in the hospitality, commercial and manufacturing sectors for more than 32 years.
