Compassionate, friendly and caring; these are some of the qualities that the patients that I have cared for frequently use to compliment my services. Having years of experience in the healthcare industry under my belt, I have developed a strong passion in caring for others in need. Despite leaving my full-time job as a nurse to be a stay home mum, I knew that I could not have easily let go of this passion of mine to provide care to others. I love interacting with my clients, lending them a listening ear and giving them relevant advice when needs arises. Seeing them smile makes my day. Being a nurse in hospital ICU ward and clinic setting for over six years, I have ample experience in assisting critically ill patients, as well as the confidence in providing quality care to clients. In order to allow for more freedom and flexibility in my time schedule, I decided to delve into the world of freelance caregiving. With great familiarity in dementia and palliative cases, I have dealt with both short-term and long-term cases, involving general medical escort and nursing duties. Outside of work, I have taken up the role of the nurse, medical escort and care companion for the care of my late grandmother for a year. Aside for the elderly, I have experience in the young as well, whereby I have been taking care of my own children since birth. My many years in providing caregiving has brewed my passion and patience needed to ensure the best care to clients in need of my service. With my varied experience in caregiving, and having fluency in English, Mandarin, Hokkien and conversational Malay, Teochew and Cantonese, I’m certain that I’m able to provide care and assist clients from all walks of life. Aside from being a certified nurse under the Singapore Nursing Board, I owned a diploma in Nursing under Nanyang Polytechnic. Furthermore, I have acquired certification in BCLS + AED under MedAiD, as well as certification in Basic Homecare Skills for Caregiver under Aaxonn. By signing up with CaregiverAsia, I wish to upskill myself in order to provide care to a wider range of people who require help as best as I can.
