As a dedicated and passionate individual, I seek to go the extra mile for others. People around me are often grateful for my approachable and helpful disposition. I believe in putting my strengths to good use and provide the utmost care for anyone who requires it. The sense of fulfilment and joy in witnessing the improvements made by people under my care is immeasurable. I have had 32 years of professional experience of which 13 years were dedicated to my job in the banking industry, and another 10 years were committed to the Civil Service. Together with partners and support from North-East Community Development Council (CDC), I devoted 4 years to running Singapore’s first and only Social Enterprise on Elderly Care which I played a part in setting up in 2003. At present, I am a Training Director in charge of overseeing Training and Development in Eldercare at iCare Life Pte. Ltd. As the Training Director, I am engaged in conducting in-house trainings and preparation of course curriculum for adult trainings. In addition to my professional job experience, I am an active volunteer with Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), handling troubled youths. I am also an ambassador for the Silver Generation Office of AIC. I am passionate about helping youths and the elderly. My patient and easygoing nature has allowed me to reach out to and build positive relationships with the people I help. The elderly I help also think of me as a dependable grandson. My experiences thus provide me with ample practical knowledge, which means that I can employ my skills to provide the best care for your loved one as well. Besides practical experience, my certifications and accolades include various awards of appreciation from MCYS, MHA and the Silver Generation Office. Awards I have received include long service and volunteer awards. I am also certified in eldercare training and therapeutic behavior management, all of which are of great value to my role as a caregiver. I seek to provide care for youths around the age of 18 and above, including adults and the elderly in the comfort of their home or at hospitals. I have also previously handled patients with dementia and early stage cancer and am thus able to care for them as well. My ability to converse fluently in English and Mandarin, as well as Cantonese, Hokkien and Teochew dialects makes communication with my patients easier. By coming onboard with Caregiver Asia, I seek to provide care to a wider range of people and share my passion to care for them in my available time. I look forward to sharing my meticulous care for your loved one!
