Hello! My name is Germaine. I graduated with a Nursing Diploma from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in 2015. After graduating, I worked with a Cardiologist for 5 months and went to sign on in Army as a Combat Medic. I was one of the Senior Medics in the Army Medical Centre where I help in the daily operations of the medical centre such as medical treatments: removal of stitches, wound dressings, IVs, IMs, SCs injections. I have also assisted in cardiac arrest, heat stroke and shoulder dislocation cases. Apart from helping to run and manage the medical centre, I work closely with the medical officers there. On top of all that, I conduct daily proficiency trainings for the medics to ensure that they are up to date with their combat medic knowledge and skills and to also make sure they are competent when they go out for medical covers. I received 2 commendation letters from my NUH patients when I was a student nurse at NP. I received a letter of commendation from my Medical Officer during my posting in Army at Pasir Laba Camp. I am patient and sensitive to my patient’s feelings and I am also very empathetic. I always put the needs of others before my own.
