With my work in eldercare, I empathize with caregivers and understand the need for respite care and the difficulties in leaving seniors alone at home when there are appointments to attend to. As such, I hope my service may provide caregivers the assurance that their loved ones are well looked after while they attend to their needs. In addition, my experience working with elderly in the community has equipped me with attentiveness, patience and kindness. Along with my degree in Counselling and grad dip in Social Work, I am able to build good rapport with seniors and provide an understanding, non-judgmental environment for them to share their stories with me. To make communication easier, I am also able to converse in Mandarin, Hokkien and Teochew. As I am also trained in providing assessments and referrals for clients in the aspects of mental wellness, medical, financial as well as social support during my work as a social worker, I will be able to highlight any early signs and symptoms of concerns should they be detected during my interaction with the senior.
